CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija – A city and 13 central municipalities in Nueva Ecija and Aurora will suffer from a 11-hour rotating brownout today, the National Grig Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) announced yesterday.
Ernest Lorenz Vidal, NGCP regional corporate communications officer, said the power outage will start at 7 am and will last up to 6 pm today.
Vidal said it is intended to facilitate maintenance works along the Cabanatuan-Baler 69-kv line which necessitates the shutdown of the grid’s transmission facilities in the areas covered by distribution utilities Nueva Ecija 2 Electric Cooperative, Inc- Area 1 (Neeco 2, Area 1), Nueva Ecija 2 Electric Cooperative, Inc- Area 2 (Neeco 2-Area 2) and Aurora Electric Cooperative (Aurelco).
Aside from Palayan City, also affected are the Nueva Ecija towns of Bongabon, Gabaldon, Laur, Llanera, Rizal, Talavera and portions of Sto. Domingo, the central Aurora towns of Baler, Dipaculao, Maria Aurora and San Luis and the southern town of Dingalan.
Vidal said the grid’s operations are expected to return to normal after completion of the maintenance works. – (Manny Galvez)
